Hello Mr. Velazquez, i don’t know you but I feel i do with all the reading materials given out and all the research i have done on you and your background. I love the way children speak highly of you and love the fact that you were a teacher helping the young grow into young adults apart from the parents. I will vote for you. You will make a great city councial. May God Bless You and always be with you in your future.

HEY I GOT THERE LATE I WENT TO THE DOOR CAUSE WILL THE OWNER IS A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE AND I SHOOK YOUR HAND BECAUSE I KNOW YOU FROM WHEN I WAS A KID AT SCHOOL (SORRY FOR MAKING YOU SOUND OLD ;0) BUT YOU STARTED YOUNG) BUT I KNOW YOU ARE ALWAYS DOING POSTIVE THINGS BUT AT THE MOMENT I DIDNT KNOW WHAT WAS THE PORPOSE OF YOUR PRESENCE THERE BUT TO EAT I DID FOUND IT WEIRD SEEING TABACCO & RON CAFE OPEN SO EARLY BUT I FIGURED IT WAS A GOOD THING TO HAVE BRUNCH CAUSE I LOVE THAT PLACE BUT GETTING BACK TO THE SUBJECT WHICH IS YOU IM VERY INTERESTED IN GETTING INVOLVED AND SUPPORTING YOUR CAUSE AND HELPING OUR COMMUNITY I GUESS YOU’LL LEARN MORE ABOUT ME AND WHAT I CAN BRING TO THE TABLE AFTER WE MEET LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR COLLABORATION TAKE CARE

I have to disagree with the approach and argument for vocational schools. As a young Dominican I feel that too often we are encouraged to aspire to become blue collar workers. It almost seems to say that blue collar jobs are as good as it will get for us. I understand the types of positions mentioned in your list are probably always in need, but to make this statement and NOT make a bigger push for higher professional positions seems like a lack of confidence in our abilities to become the future lawyers, doctors, engineers, and (more) highly skilled workers. Why aren’t we encouraging our young people to go further than vocational schools, or community colleges? At this point we are all aware of the quality of life benefits of receiving more education and I think we should hold our young people to higher standards that blue collar positions, as much as I appreciate the work our health care services workers and paralegals do, I would much rather encourage young people to become doctors and lawyers. Good luck Manny, I hope you take my comments into consideration.

Do i remember Velasquez? “Ofcourse I remember Velazquez, he was my junior high school professor. Better than him, only God.” Velasquez was the person you were and are able to call for anything. He knows what to do to solve any problems. He helps everyone in need and is very generous. If Manny Velasquez wins our community would become one of the greatest communities out there. A reason for this fact, he’ll help the young, the elder, not to forget to mention that he knows about 99.9 percent of the young adults in these neighborhoods. Good Luck Mr. Velasquez be sure you’ll receive my vote and my entire family. All my friends will hear about this we will all vote. Que Dios te bendiga y te proteja en todo tu camino.
